Viton® (FKM) is valued for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. The compound resists engine and transmission fluids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents. It should not be specified for service in low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters.

It sees regular use in high-temperature process equipment, oil and gas, and automotive fuel systems.
