Ordered as HB90134, this is an AS568-134 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 1.862 in (47.29 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.068 in (52.53 mm). The back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for strong abrasion and tear resistance, most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. This material stands up to propane and butane, greases and lubricants, and petroleum-based oils. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where strong acids or automotive brake fluid are present.
