Ordered as HB90169, this is an AS568-169 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 7.487 in (190.17 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.693 in (195.4 mm). The back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs and low compression set under sustained load. This material stands up to hydraulic fluids, propane and butane, and water. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where ketones or ozone and direct sunlight are present.
