Part number HB90324 is an AS568-324 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.35 in (34.29 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.77 in (44.96 mm). A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

The compound resists petroleum-based oils, water, and hydraulic fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) offers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to polar solvents or ozone and direct sunlight will shorten service life.
