The HQ4014 is an AS568-014 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 0.489 in (12.42 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.629 in (15.98 mm). This quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

Buna-N (Nitrile) offers an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Expect good resistance to hydraulic fluids, many alcohols, and greases and lubricants. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in ketones or automotive brake fluid. The profile itself contributes lower compressive load required to achieve a seal and two sealing bands per contact face rather than one.
