This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-028 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile built to an inside diameter of 1.364 in (34.65 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.504 in (38.2 mm), catalogued under part number HQ4028. It delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

Expect good resistance to water, hydraulic fluids, and many alcohols. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for strong abrasion and tear resistance, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where ozone and direct sunlight or polar solvents are present.
