This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-033 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 1.989 in (50.52 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.129 in (54.08 mm), catalogued under part number HQ4033. It delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for strong abrasion and tear resistance, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The compound resists petroleum-based oils, water, and hydraulic fluids. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where ketones or strong acids are present. The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and lower compressive load required to achieve a seal.
