APG stocks the HQ4039, an AS568-039 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.739 in (69.57 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.879 in (73.13 mm). A quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, strong abrasion and tear resistance. The compound resists water, propane and butane, and petroleum-based oils. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in automotive brake fluid or ketones. The profile itself contributes resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings and lower compressive load required to achieve a seal.
