This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-153 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile supplied with an inside diameter of 3.487 in (88.57 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.693 in (93.8 mm), catalogued under part number HQ4153. It resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. It resists hydraulic fluids, propane and butane, and greases and lubricants. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to ozone and direct sunlight or strong acids will shorten service life.
