HQ4170 is an AS568-170 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 7.737 in (196.52 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.943 in (201.75 mm). In service, this quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

It resists many alcohols, water, and hydraulic fluids. Buna-N (Nitrile) offers strong abrasion and tear resistance, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Verify compatibility before use with polar solvents or automotive brake fluid.
