Ordered as HQ4223, this is an AS568-223 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 1.609 in (40.87 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.887 in (47.93 mm). The quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

Buna-N (Nitrile) offers the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, strong abrasion and tear resistance. It resists hydraulic fluids, many alcohols, and water. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where ketones or automotive brake fluid are present.
