Part number HQ4239 is an AS568-239 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 3.609 in (91.67 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.887 in (98.73 mm). A quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, strong abrasion and tear resistance. It resists many alcohols, petroleum-based oils, and water. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in automotive brake fluid or strong acids.
