The HQ4247 is an AS568-247 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 4.609 in (117.07 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.887 in (124.13 mm). This quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs and most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The compound resists many alcohols, greases and lubricants, and water. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to polar solvents or ketones will shorten service life.
