Ordered as HQ4253, this is an AS568-253 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 5.359 in (136.12 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.637 in (143.18 mm). The quad-ring seats in a standard o-ring gland while offering improved dynamic performance.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers strong abrasion and tear resistance, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. Expect good resistance to hydraulic fluids, greases and lubricants, and water. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving ozone and direct sunlight or strong acids call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a parting line located away from the sealing surface and two sealing bands per contact face rather than one.
