4254-366Y MINNESOTA RUBBER QUAD RING

This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-254 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 5.484 in (139.29 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.762 in (146.35 mm), catalogued under part number HQ4254. It uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers strong abrasion and tear resistance, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material holds up against petroleum-based oils, water, and hydraulic fluids. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where strong acids or ketones are present. The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings.
