The HQ4258 is an AS568-258 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 5.984 in (151.99 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.262 in (159.05 mm). This quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

The compound resists greases and lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and propane and butane. Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to strong acids or ozone and direct sunlight will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and lower compressive load required to achieve a seal.

Typical settings include construction equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and general industrial maintenance.
