The HQ4270 is an AS568-270 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 8.984 in (228.19 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.262 in (235.25 mm). This quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material holds up against water, hydraulic fluids, and many alcohols. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where strong acids or ketones are present. The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and lower compressive load required to achieve a seal.
