The HQ4314 is an AS568-314 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 0.725 in (18.42 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.145 in (29.08 mm). This quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. Expect good resistance to petroleum-based oils, propane and butane, and greases and lubricants. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Verify compatibility before use with polar solvents or ketones. The profile itself contributes resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings and two sealing bands per contact face rather than one.
