APG stocks the HQ4318, an AS568-318 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.975 in (24.77 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.395 in (35.43 mm). A quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

The compound resists hydraulic fluids, many alcohols, and petroleum-based oils. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to ketones or automotive brake fluid will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes lower compressive load required to achieve a seal and resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings.
