APG stocks the HQ4336, an AS568-336 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 2.85 in (72.39 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.27 in (83.06 mm). A quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

This material stands up to many alcohols, greases and lubricants, and water. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where strong acids or polar solvents are present. The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and a parting line located away from the sealing surface.
