HQ4361 is an AS568-361 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 5.975 in (151.77 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.395 in (162.43 mm). In service, this quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. The compound resists many alcohols, greases and lubricants, and hydraulic fluids. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. Applications involving ozone and direct sunlight or polar solvents call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a parting line located away from the sealing surface and two sealing bands per contact face rather than one.
