Part number HQ4383 is an AS568-383 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 13.975 in (354.97 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 14.395 in (365.63 mm). A quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for low compression set under sustained load and most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material holds up against hydraulic fluids, greases and lubricants, and petroleum-based oils. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in automotive brake fluid or ozone and direct sunlight.
