Ordered as HQ4386, this is an AS568-386 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 16.955 in (430.66 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 17.375 in (441.33 mm). The quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

The material holds up against hydraulic fluids, petroleum-based oils, and many alcohols. Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for low compression set under sustained load, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving ozone and direct sunlight or automotive brake fluid call for a different compound.
