This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-437 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile built to an inside diameter of 5.975 in (151.77 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.525 in (165.74 mm), catalogued under part number HQ4437. It delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for low compression set under sustained load, strong abrasion and tear resistance. The material holds up against hydraulic fluids, water, and propane and butane. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in ozone and direct sunlight or polar solvents.
