Product Specification

-
This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-438 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 6.225 in (158.12 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.775 in (172.09 mm), catalogued under part number HQ4438. It provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, low compression set under sustained load. It resists greases and lubricants, propane and butane, and many alcohols. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to strong acids or ozone and direct sunlight will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings.

Typical settings include construction equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and agricultural equipment.

HQ4438 ships individually. Application requirements vary, so validate compatibility with your process conditions prior to installation. APG can cross-reference from an existing part number, a drawing or a physical sample if this size is not an exact match.
