Ordered as HQ4439, this is an AS568-439 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 6.475 in (164.47 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.025 in (178.44 mm). The quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for strong abrasion and tear resistance, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Expect good resistance to propane and butane, water, and greases and lubricants. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving polar solvents or ketones call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a parting line located away from the sealing surface and two sealing bands per contact face rather than one.
