The HQ4456 is an AS568-456 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 13.475 in (342.27 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 14.025 in (356.24 mm). This quad-ring seats in a standard o-ring gland while offering improved dynamic performance.

The compound resists petroleum-based oils, propane and butane, and greases and lubricants. Buna-N (Nitrile) offers strong abrasion and tear resistance, low compression set under sustained load. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to automotive brake fluid or ketones will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a parting line located away from the sealing surface and two sealing bands per contact face rather than one.
