This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-457 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A quad profile measuring an inside diameter of 13.975 in (354.97 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 14.525 in (368.94 mm), catalogued under part number HQ4457. It delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, strong abrasion and tear resistance. This material stands up to propane and butane, water, and many alcohols. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in ketones or strong acids.
