As a material, Polyurethane (AU/EU) offers exceptional abrasion resistance and toughness that outperforms conventional rubber compounds. The material holds up against petroleum oils, impact and shock loading, and extrusion under high pressure. It should not be specified for service in hot water and steam or prolonged humidity at elevated temperature.

Typical settings include off-highway equipment, press and forming equipment, and hydraulic cylinders.
