Polyurethane (AU/EU) is specified here for very high tensile strength and load capacity, toughness that outperforms conventional rubber compounds. Expect good resistance to petroleum oils, abrasion and wear, and impact and shock loading. Applications involving acids and bases or hot water and steam call for a different compound.
