Product Specification

-
The S70MD040 is an AS568-040 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.864 in (72.75 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.004 in (76.3 mm). This o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Silicone is specified here for excellent electrical insulating properties, physiological inertness and low toxicity. Expect good resistance to many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and extreme heat and cold. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving concentrated acids or abrasive dynamic service call for a different compound.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across food and beverage processing, sanitary process lines, and electronics and electrical enclosures.

Order part number S70MD040, sold individually. Nominal inside diameter is listed as 2 7/8 inch. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. For a size or compound outside the standard catalog, APG can quote from a print or sample.
