Part number S70MD049 is an AS568-049 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.989 in (126.72 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.129 in (130.28 mm). An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

Silicone delivers very good compression set resistance across its range and excellent electrical insulating properties. Expect good resistance to many oxidizing chemicals, ozone and UV exposure, and extreme heat and cold. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where steam above its rated range or concentrated acids are present.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, and food and beverage processing.
