568-025 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SH70025 is an AS568-025 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.176 in (29.87 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.316 in (33.43 mm). This square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for low compression set under sustained load, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. The material holds up against many alcohols, water, and hydraulic fluids. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in polar solvents or ketones. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
