Ordered as SH70026, this is an AS568-026 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.239 in (31.47 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.379 in (35.03 mm). The square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers strong abrasion and tear resistance, low compression set under sustained load. The material holds up against propane and butane, water, and greases and lubricants. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. Exposure to ketones or polar solvents will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size.
