This square-cut ring is supplied in AS568-041 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 2.989 in (75.92 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.129 in (79.48 mm), catalogued under part number SH70041. It provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

The compound resists many alcohols, petroleum-based oils, and hydraulic fluids. Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to polar solvents or ketones will shorten service life.
