SH70116 is an AS568-116 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.737 in (18.72 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.943 in (23.95 mm). In service, this square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

It resists greases and lubricants, water, and hydraulic fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) offers an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs and low compression set under sustained load. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving strong acids or polar solvents call for a different compound.
