APG stocks the SH70167, an AS568-167 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 6.987 in (177.47 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.193 in (182.7 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for strong abrasion and tear resistance, low compression set under sustained load. This material stands up to greases and lubricants, many alcohols, and propane and butane. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
