568-215 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SH70215 is an AS568-215 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 1.046 in (26.57 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.324 in (33.63 mm). In service, this square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for strong abrasion and tear resistance, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. It resists hydraulic fluids, petroleum-based oils, and greases and lubricants. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to ketones or automotive brake fluid will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
