H4X222 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 222 mm (8.74 in), a cross section of 4 mm (0.157 in), and an outside diameter of 230 mm (9.06 in). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for low compression set under sustained load and most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material holds up against hydraulic fluids, many alcohols, and petroleum-based oils. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in ketones or automotive brake fluid.
