Part number SH70235 is an AS568-235 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 3.109 in (78.97 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.387 in (86.03 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. Expect good resistance to greases and lubricants, petroleum-based oils, and propane and butane. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C).
