568-241 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SH70241 is an AS568-241 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 3.859 in (98.02 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.137 in (105.08 mm). This square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

It resists petroleum-based oils, greases and lubricants, and propane and butane. Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers low compression set under sustained load and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
