568-264 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Part number SH70264 is an AS568-264 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 7.484 in (190.09 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.762 in (197.15 mm). A square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) offers low compression set under sustained load, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Expect good resistance to water, greases and lubricants, and many alcohols. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving strong acids or automotive brake fluid call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
