568-328 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SH70328 is an AS568-328 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.85 in (46.99 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.27 in (57.66 mm). In service, this square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

This material stands up to propane and butane, petroleum-based oils, and water. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for low compression set under sustained load, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
