568-341 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SH70341 is an AS568-341 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 3.475 in (88.27 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.895 in (98.93 mm). This square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for strong abrasion and tear resistance, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The compound resists water, many alcohols, and petroleum-based oils. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
