568-367 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

APG stocks the SH70367, an AS568-367 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 7.475 in (189.87 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.895 in (200.53 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Expect good resistance to many alcohols, water, and propane and butane. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to strong acids or automotive brake fluid will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
