Ordered as SH70427, this is an AS568-427 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 4.725 in (120.02 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.275 in (133.99 mm). The square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

Expect good resistance to petroleum-based oils, many alcohols, and propane and butane. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, strong abrasion and tear resistance. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in automotive brake fluid or ozone and direct sunlight.
