568-433 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

APG stocks the SH70433, an AS568-433 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 5.475 in (139.07 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.025 in (153.04 mm). A square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material holds up against hydraulic fluids, greases and lubricants, and petroleum-based oils. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where ozone and direct sunlight or ketones are present. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
