The SH70437 is an AS568-437 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 5.975 in (151.77 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.525 in (165.74 mm). This square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

This material stands up to many alcohols, greases and lubricants, and water. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to automotive brake fluid or ketones will shorten service life.
