Ordered as H3X48, this is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 48 mm (1.89 in), a cross section of 3 mm (0.118 in), and an outside diameter of 54 mm (2.13 in). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for low compression set under sustained load and most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material holds up against water, many alcohols, and greases and lubricants. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in polar solvents or automotive brake fluid.
