Part number H3X98 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 98 mm (3.858 in), a cross section of 3 mm (0.118 in), and an outside diameter of 104 mm (4.09 in). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, strong abrasion and tear resistance. The material holds up against hydraulic fluids, propane and butane, and many alcohols. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C).
